IT infrastructure can power up customer experience. Is yours ready?

Three steps to enable your IT infrastructure to deliver and support phenomenal user experience.

Delivering exceptional and differentiated customer experience through multichannel software applications is the ultimate battleground for businesses in today’s application economy.

Modern customers want to engage through the platform of their choice, are unforgiving in terms of experience quality and would even switch to a competitor in a heartbeat. But all applications require the right mix of high performing IT infrastructure elements to run on or to even exceed end user expectations.

IT needs to step up their game amidst the rising complexity due to the amalgamation of legacy and newer technologies such as cloud and big data. No wonder, according to Aberdeen Group, 41 percent of organizations list rising user demand for applications as top IT management challenge.

Here are three steps IT teams should consider taking if they want to power up or evolve their IT Infrastructure performance to meet needs of the application economy:

Step 1: Unify IT tools and management

IT cannot afford to use disparate, complex set of IT monitoring and management tools. This siloed approach doesn’t provide the end-to-end visibility you need across your entire infrastructure and results in finger pointing while your customer experience suffers.

According to recent research by Aberdeen Group, businesses with a unified IT infrastructure management approach are three times more likely to reduce mean time to repair. Several customers of ours have also reported significant improvements in mean time to repair and the time spent in managing monitoring tools after implementing a unified approach.

Step 2: Build a proactive management approach

Once all your servers, networks and services are unified, IT needs to switch the mode from being reactive to proactive. IT teams need to proactively find and fix issues before their customer experience suffers. They need to have predictive and actionable insights into underlying infrastructure so they are able to see performance bottlenecks before they have a significant impact on user experience.

Taking into account these growing requirements of our customers, we have also introduced additional analytical capabilities in the new release of our unified infrastructure management solution.

Step 3: Bring agility to your IT infrastructure

In order to thrive in the application economy, businesses need to bring new applications and capabilities to market faster. Your infrastructure management architecture and approach needs to be flexible enough to support new types of technologies and not take weeks to roll them out.

While studying best in class companies, Aberdeen Group identified that companies that had an agile and unified approach were able to deploy and upgrade applications at a 58 percent higher rate than others.
